The South Dakota Board of Regents approved terminating the Prevention specialization in USD's Addiction Counseling and Prevention BS during its July 2025 meeting. Current students can finish under the existing requirements through summer 2029. The BS remains open with a streamlined plan that no longer requires a specialization.
